Small Group Personal Training in Houston
Your experience of being trained is all about the amount of attention you receive. Big group classes allows for very little personalization and even less attention. As a fitness class grows in size the exercise selection becomes more generic, and individualized form correction becomes less frequent. For beginners this is a major problem. Body mechanics and postural issues become exacerbated instead of fixed. If you’re new to exercise, it’s wise to learn the basics over the course of a few months then hop into a group class. That group fitness instructor probably sees your poor form, but simply can’t stop class to help guide you out of your poor - and deeply entrenched - movement habits: something I couldn’t bring myself to endure.
More attention.
With 3 to 5 people in semi-private or small group personal training sessions, a large degree of personalization can happen. The calisthenics exercises selected will be much more tailored to what is needed to balance out your postural dysfunction. Not to mention the break in pricing compared to a solo session.
FUN POTENTIAL.
Depending on the aptitude of the small group personal trainer, sessions can be way more fun than alone. I include many exercises that require team work to perform. Also, spurring on a bit of competition never hurt anyone either.
COMMITMENT BOOST.
Pretty self explanatory. All participants in small group personal training are giving accountability to each other. They observe more detrimental behavior than I could outside the session, and they reinforce the good!
Increased Learning.
3-5x as many questions. 3-5x as many form-faults to correct. 3-5x as many questions about how to eliminate aches or pains. 3-5x as many nutrition concerns. 3-5x as many excuses debunked.
